Contract Processing Specialist

Starting date: ASAP

This position is for someone that has a background in government procurement, specifically contracts. The individual will need to have the following additional qualifications/experience:

 

- Extensive computer skills – Word, Excel, etc.

- Experience in using Adobe Pro

- Ability to accurately enter data into a database

- Excellent organizational skills

- Ability to multi-task

- Ability to handle large volumes of work

- Analytical skills

 

The candidate will need to work at least 3 – 4 days per week.

Because of COVID-19 concerns, we will require the individual to test negative within at least 1 to 2 days before reporting to the office. We will also require the person to wear a mask. A private office will be provided.

Procurement Specialist (Storeroom Manager)

Starting Date: ASAP

Work Hours: 6:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Starting Wage: $16.92

This position is devoted to providing inventory and warehousing functions, and professional procurement, and contract administration services to the department. Performs more advanced transaction processing involving basic research, verification, reconciliation, and mathematical calculations, as well as respond to internal and external customer questions and inquiries by communicating standard policies and procedures. There is an established operational routine to be followed and decisions are limited primarily to choosing how quickly the work is performed and the sequence in which the work is performed to meet established standards and deadlines. 

Responsible for processing credit card transactions; generating reports; generating purchase orders and requistions; entering data; reviewing data for accuracy; preparing batch payments; maintaining filing and records; and compiling information. 

Duties & Responsibilities:

     - Researches vandor information and coordinates with vendors to request quotes; orders, receives, stocks and issues supplies, materials, and equipment; performs inventory cycle counts and audits; processes credit card requests; prepares batch payments; tracks shipments; monitors inventory levels; identifies purchasing needs; and inspects incoming supplies and materials to ensure compliance with applicable contract requirements and quality standards.

     - Prepares, scans, prints, submits, and/or maintains routine reports, purchase orders, requisitions, and other documents; maintains files, records, databases, and online systems; reviews contracts information; assists with preparing bid documents; enters and updates data; gathers and compiles information; and reviews work for accuracy and completeness.

     - Performs office support duties including maintaining office equipment, cleaning assigned areas when necessary, and providing input to process improvement efforts.

     - Assisting with preparing bid documents.

     - Purchasing and stocking supplies, equipment, tools, and repair parts.

     - Maintaining inventory systems.

     - Running reports. 

     - Performing cycle counts and audits.

     - Researching vendors.

     - Implementing vendor contracts.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience:

     - Must be 18 years old or older

     - High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED, HiSET, TASC)

     - Must have a Driver's License

     - Two years of related vocational, administrative, or technical experience in processing financial transactions and paperwork and verifying transactions for accuracy.

Preferred Skills:

     - Experience in managing a logistics/warehousing and/or supply chain operation.

Asphalt Laborer

Starting date: ASAP

Starting wage: $16.89 / hr

Work hours: Generally Monday - Friday 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. (40 hrs / wk)

 

This position is for individuals who are employed as temporary staff to polish their skills, introduce them to city processes and evaluate their performance and behavior. 

 

Requirements:

- High School Diploma or Equivalent

- Unrestricted Class C NC Driver's License (or ability to convert out-of-state license to a NC license)

- Experience working in outdoor elements including extreme heat, rain, etc. 

- Experience performing manual labor

- Emphasis on attendance and punctuality (one minute late is considered late)

- Experience using hand tools such as rakes and shovels

- Ability to tolerate extreme heat (Warning: extreme heat is defined here as outdoor temperatures + heat from asphalt when applying to streets)
